Tenerife
Tenerife is a very popular European getaway for many of the big European nations, especially the English! Tenerife is sat just off the coast of West Africa and is a gem of the Canary Islands with busy tourist towns and small villages.
This Spanish island paradise has tropical style landscapes with volcanic peaks, green valleys, and golden beaches so it’s not just your run of the mill beach resort, it’s a great place to stay for families. I love it personally but it does divide opinion.
The coasts of Tenerife are ideal beach lovers if you want to get away from it all at a fairly low cost. From tranquil coves and quieter villages in North Tenerife to very lively resort areas, perfect stretches of sand in the South of Tenerife. It actually feels like a Caribbean island within Europe.
It’s not all party and water sports though, Tenerife boasts a cultural side too. The island’s capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is brimming with art, history, and lively festivals if you’re sick of the touristy spots. In the South the big resorts, zoos, shopping centres, and vibrant, pumping nightlife also have plenty on offer to keep you and your little ones busy while there are little foodie delights and fresh seafood all around the island.
