Thailand
Welcome to Thailand the land of smiles, known for being one of Asia’s bustling hot spots and attracting around 30-40m tourists a year. You can enjoy the bright lights of Bangkok or chill out on one of the islands/resorts. It is known for being a cheap country where you can get a bottle of beer for 40 THB (£1), but prices have increased in recent years. Street food is still very reasonable and our personal favourite is Mu Ping and sticky rice. Highlights include Full Moon Parties, riding around on a moped like a local and generally enjoying the great weather and friendly nature of the locals.
It’s fair to say that Thailand has something to offer everybody. You can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the big city and the infamous Khaosan Road a mecca for backpackers, back in the day. You can go to the many islands including the one where Leonardo DiCaprio filmed ‘The Beach’ (Kho Phi Phi Island). The North of Thailand is a great place to bike around and has mountain ranges and nature reserves if you want a trekking kind of trip.
