Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur or KL for short, is the capital and largest city of Malaysia. The most well known landmark here is the Petronas Twin Towers. You will find many rooftop swimming pools and bars.
Kuala Lumpur has a mix of cultures and has a population of around 2 million people which is always growing. KL is a pretty cheap city in terms of food and accommodation where you can get a good feed for around $3 if you know where to look.
Areas like Chinatown and Little India are popular and a must visit in my opinion, for their unique atmospheres, street markets, and historical sites. .
As mentioned the Petronas Twin Towers are the main attraction in KL for you to go see and if you have time to go up to the top. Other notable landmarks include the Kuala Lumpur Tower, Batu Caves, and Merdeka Square. KL is well known for its shopping options, ranging from upscale malls like Suria KLCC to street markets like Petaling Street.
I do think Malaysia is underestimated and not as well travelled as other Asian destinations but certainly holds its own when you get there and some amazing things to see and do.
