Welcome to Thailand the land of smiles, known for being one of Asia’s top options to visit and attracting around 30-40m tourists a year. You can enjoy the bright lights of Bangkok which is hard to describe and needs to be experienced firsthand. Then to the other extreme of chilling out on one of the many islands/resorts. It is known as being a cheap country where you can get a bottle of beer for 40 THB ($1.10), but prices have increased in recent years. Street food is still very reasonable and our personal favourite is Mu Ping and sticky rice. Highlights include Full Moon Parties, riding around on a moped like a local and generally enjoying the great weather and friendly nature of the locals.

It’s fair to say that Thailand has something to offer everybody. You can enjoy your time in the capital and the infamous Khaosan Road a mecca for backpackers, back in the day. In my opinion Bangkok is now centered around malls such as Terminal 21 and also top clubs and rooftop bars.

You can go to the many islands including the one where Leonardo DiCaprio filmed ‘The Beach’ (Kho Phi Phi Island). The North of Thailand is a great place to bike around and has mountain ranges and nature reserves if you want a trekking kind of trip.
